The Velvi Kit will gradually help you regain pain-free sexuality (vaginismus, dyspareunia, vaginal stenosis, MRKH or after any intervention requiring rehabilitation of the vaginal cavity). It is composed of 6 vaginal dilators and a removable handle, inside a discreet case.
The use of dilators is generally recommended for women who suffer from vaginismus , dyspareunia , vulvodynia , atrophy , stenosis or vaginal agenesis .
Vaginismus is a disorder that can have a physical or psychological origin (see the article " Vaginaismus: body language "). This disorder is manifested by an involuntary and uncontrollable contraction of the muscles of the vagina which can make intercourse extremely painful, even the use of sanitary tampons or the practice of a gynecological examination difficult.
Vaginal atrophy or stenosis may occur after radiotherapy treatment, or following a difficult menopause.
Velvi manufactures its dilators in France and offers 3 kits to support all women with vaginal or vulvar pain.
Velvi dilators are used with a removable handle that clips and is provided to facilitate the gesture. The dilators are made of European Pharmacopoeia Polycarbonate (rigid plastic) guaranteed without Bisphenol A and without Phthalates (ROHS standards).
The material of the Velvi dilators is compatible with the use of an intimate lubricant , which will help with insertion and massages . It is also possible to use massage oils of the perineum with the dilators.
In general, vaginal dilators are either made of soft silicone like the Vagiwell or the Intimrelax , or made of rigid plastic like the femmax or the velvi offered here.
A vaginal dilator is a CE medical device but is not covered by health insurance even if prescribed.
